Legacies (Wind Band Version, 2015)

This wind band setting of Nathan Daughtrey's Legacies for percussion ensemble was completed with the composer's permission as part of my culminating project while studying conducting at Washington State University.  It is unique in that all of the material contained in this wind version was first written for percussion instruments.  The original piece was commissioned by the North Carolina Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society to honor composer & percussionist Lynn Glassock.  The composer utilizes quotations from Glassock's compositions, as well as a melody derived from the letters used in Glassock's name.
